Project Details

Completed in April of 2017, the Augusta North Station is a 9,700 Square Foot new station located on a City owned parcel of land in Augusta Maine.  Our team was hired to design, permit and provide construction administration services for the project.

Architecture for this new station borrows key elements from Augusta’s 1912 Hartford Station, yet is contemporary in every way.  A major cost factor in the design was discovery of poor soils on site, requiring a steel piling foundation and floating slab floors.  State, federal and local land development permits were required for the project.

The building is designed for personnel safety including the division of “hot zones” from living quarters, while providing all needed elements for training, working, and living.  Separate restrooms allow for privacy.  Public cooking, dining, and workout spaces provide overlook windows and views to the exterior
