The Bangor Transit Center establishes a new central location for The City’s transportation system while also increasing pedestrian access to Downtown Bangor. The building features public restrooms, support spaces for staff and interior and exterior waiting spaces for buses, with accompanying information kiosks to display scheduled arrivals, departures, and community events. Four canopies flank the building to provide protection from seasonal weather. Noted was Artifex’s flexibility in meeting client needs, which evolved as the project progressed. The team was able to respond to these changes without compromising on the project’s successful delivery or its tight construction schedule. Artifex worked with Gensler during the early design process.
