Fort Knox, a historic construction begun during the War of 1812 and constructed up to 1844 was suffering from water infiltration into two-step alley, an area of the fort accessible to the public.  Artifex was consulted to investigate the cause of the infiltration.  It was concluded that water was getting past a previous waterproofing remediation.  After removing layers of existing material, a solution of new waterproofing, adhered to the granite wall, plus a zinc counter-flashing cap was designed and installed and crushed rock infilled.
